Bobak Kechavarzi is the lead for AI and ML solutions in Research IT at Eli Lilly and Company. His work includes the engineering and management of Lillys large-scale genomics datasets and pipelines, particularly with the Auto-immune therapeutic area. The tools and approaches he has created have facilitated patient stratification and target prioritization, data searching and indexing, and multiple visualization frameworks for results. Bobak is also a major proponent of reproducible research and has led internal seminars for best coding practices and project structuring. His current work focuses on building collaborative, cloud environments for external partners and Lilly employees to work effortlessly, together.
Bobak attended Hanover College for his BA in Biology and Computer Science, Indiana University Bloomington for his Masters in Informatics. Throughout his career he has enjoyed novel programming needs and solutions, whether it is the field of robotics, genomics, or the data sciences. He is currently completing his PhD in Informatics at the School of Informatics and Computing at Indiana University Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) focusing on integrative, big data bioinformatics.
